Water Damage in Trenton Office Building

Water Damage in Trenton Office Building

This past summer SERVPRO responded to an after-hours call from a property management group in Trenton. When we arrived on site, SERVPRO of Newtown Yardley observed sites like the photo above. Not only was water pouring from the ceiling but water made its way into wall crevices, carpets, wall cavities, and insulation. SERVPRO worked tirelessly overnight and over the weekend to immediately reduce secondary damages that can be caused by slow response time or poor work procedures. At the end of the job, SERVPRO helped our neighbor business get back into the office by Monday and normal business operations restarted Tuesday after the previous Thursday night's loss. Our normal response time for any job within our territory is a few hours, once again this proved to be extremely useful for our customers. When water damage strikes your Newtown, Yardley, New Hope, or Washington Crossing home, strike back with the professional team at SERVPRO.

Residential Water Damage In New Hope

Residential Water Damage In New Hope

Here is an example of what a large water damage may look like in the beginning. Upon arrival, it is obvious that the runner carpets were soaked through and the nice hardwood floors were soaked and warped. Dripping paint bubbles on the ceiling indicate water trapped behind the thin layer of paint coming from an above source. This particular water damage was caused by a water heater located in an attic storage space. The water went leaking unnoticed for a few days and penetrated down two floors worth of material. At the end of the day, this water damage took approximately 4-weeks start to finish and is considered a more severe damage as our franchise average water job lasts a mere 4 days. This allows for faster rebuild times and can get the homeowner back into the home for the least inconvenience.

Anti-microbial growth spray to ward off any unwanted growth

Anti-microbial growth spray to ward off any unwanted growth

When SERVPRO comes into your home to restore it to its former glory, we take a look at some of the best approaches to use for the specific job. On most water damages it is decided that an anti-microbial growth spray should be administered to the structure and materials to help prevent mold growth. The solution gets administered lightly to the surface of the affected material via pump sprayer and re-administered as many times as the technicians sees fit.

Moisture Meter to Detect Water

Moisture Meter to Detect Water

Sometimes water lines are easy to see in materials such as carpet or drywall. But when color contrast can't tell the whole story, SERVPRO techs trust their moisture meters to pick up the presence of water which helps the team determine the full scope of the job.

Equipment in Action

Equipment in Action

This is an example of our flexibility in the field. Here we have three air movers working to dry a small portion of affected ceiling, walls, and floors in this Yardley apartment unit. The water came from a burst pipe upstairs in a neglected unit, flooding the occupants downstairs. Due to electrical restrictions caused by the water, we had to install a power distribution box (bottom right) which allowed us much more versatility with our equipment selection.

Luckily with our quick, professional service, SERVPRO was capable of getting the restaurant back to health and safety code standards and back into operation much faster than originally expected, saving the restaurant and insurance company a lot of potential damages.
